Sculptures

From Carrara marble to precious gemstones
Trained in classical sculpture as well as in gemstone carving, Michael Peuster works in marble just as confidently as in precious stones.

One of his most notable works is a life-size bust of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX) of Thailand. Commissioned by the Thai Royal Household and carved in Carrara marble over three years, the bust was presented to His Majesty on June 4, 2003, when Michael was granted a personal audience with the King.

His gemstone sculptures, among them figures of the Buddha in rock crystal, Ganesha, and a lion emerging from amethyst, show the same command of form on a more intimate scale.
